Parraweena Sunburst defies the odds

Everybody loves a good story and this a beauty, it’s a story of Parraweena Sunburst.

Parraweena Sunburst (by TR Dual Rey) was purchased at the NCHA Select Sale by Shane Plummer and came to our attention in 2012 when she finaled in the NCHA Futurity under Jason Leitch, the same year he won on another of TR’s daughters, Lil Rey of Hope.

Parraweena Sunburst (Blister) was later sold through the Landmark Classic Sale.  Purchased by Drew & Sally Stevenson of Benalla Stud, Hughenden, she became a great family horse.  Drew won Snafflebits on her, placed in drafts and Sally and the kids all drafted and challenged her for placings.  They loved her.

Unfortunately luck was not on their side as Blister suffered a near career ending injury that saw her out for two years, in which time she had a foal.

Every good story needs a happy ending and this is no different.  Great news, last weekend Blister burst back into the campdraft arena and placed 4th in the Maiden with Sally, finaled in the Novice running an 87 AND placed 4th in the Junior with Emilee.

The Stevensons’ reckon she is “A very Special little mare indeed, an absolute treasure”, and so do we.
