Denzel filly destined for greatness!

As we put the final wraps on the 2023 Dalby Australian Stockhorse Sale, we reflect on what it means to sell a horse.  There was much discussion on social media about the emotions “Out the back” as Penwood Creations refers to it, on exiting from the sales arena.

The jubilation, the heart ache, the realisation of a dream, often all wrapped up into one.  Heather Pascoe commented that, “Sometimes you are going to be over the moon, other times you might wish you could sit there and cry.

For many vendors the prize isn’t just achieving your reserve, it’s seeing your pride and joy delivered in to the hands of someone you know can help them fulfill their potential.

Such was the case with Lot 51 – SPINS CARBON COPY, a 4yo mare by Nonda Southern Cross, bred, reared, broken in and trained by Corinne Anderson.  Little did Corinne know at the time that the purchaser was legendary horseman and campdrafter Geoff Schrader, the only one to have won both the Warwick Gold Cup and the Canning Downs on the same weekend – and on the same horse.

This says as much about Corinne as it does about the horse.

Congratulations to all connections. Expectations are high and we can’t wait to follow her journey.
