Huge congratulations to Nick & Stephanie Hancock on the arrival of their beautiful baby girl Sophie. Whilst they were busy welcoming her in to the world there was another story unfolding at Normanton Rodeo that made them incredibly proud.

A couple of years ago a wonderful young guy named Bill Weber came in to their lives, not only did he become a valuable member of the work team, he became a member of the family.

When Nick headed off to welcome Sophie he handed Moore Rox & the team to Nick and the other Ringers. The results have blown them away and they couldn’t be more proud!

Bill & Moore Rox got a place in the Restricted Open (his first ever place in a restricted) and he finaled him in the big 3 round Open. Unfortunately the beast fell over on the second peg, but not before he earned the respect of the crowd.

Steph said the messages have been rolling in ever since, with so many people commenting on how beautifully he rode Moore Rox.

But Bill wasn’t finished there. He then went on to claim the Maiden win, his first ever, with Nick’s gelding Lethal Con (by Hazelwood Conman), and then topped the weekend off by winning the Poly Buck Jump as well.

Steph said, “Bill is a ‘proper good farrier; and has been shoeing Moore Rox full-time for us, especially while I’ve been unable to do much lately. It was pretty special seeing him get to experience what those shoes feel like!”

Huge congratulations Bill you have done yourself and your adopted family proud. A win, a place and the icing on the cake…a baby sister!
