When you’re on to a good thing, stick to it!

We think it’s fair to describe Pete and Jessica Turich as Conman devotees.  Their relationship began way back when Conman was about 4yo and Jess was living at St George. She saw him draft with Terry and Challenge at Cloncurry with Chris.  Jess said she’d never seen a horse chase a cow like him and so, the breeding game began.

She bred a few over the years but it wasn’t until she met Pete that they started breeding the numbers and buying young Conman mares. Like Jess he loved the way Conman travelled and chased cattle and knew he wanted to have a paddock full of Conman mares.

This story builds on our previous post about the “The breeding game not always being easy“, recips slipping, paddock accidents, the list goes on.  But Jess says, “Conman has been amazing to us over the years with fillies and we feel lucky to have so many.”

Pete and Jess have loved the Conmans from the get go, “We get along with them and love their style, so it made sense for us to keep breeding to him. We had lots of miles mustering and they love going to work.
