Happenstance, by definition, is a chance situation, producing a good result (Cambridge Dictionary). This perfectly defines the circumstances by which the Daley family came to own Westlake Cool Breeze.
It all began with a phone call to Pete and Jess Turich about a young colt they had advertised for the Nutrien Classic sale. That conversation didn’t end with the purchase of that particular horse. Instead, another young colt was mentioned, a yearling by Hazelwood Conman out of a Black Breeze mare.
Kelly thought, “Forget that other horse, this is the one I want”.
Pete agreed to give the Daley’s first offer if he and Jess ever decided to sell the colt. Eighteen months later, Kelly and Lucy inspected the youngster and found him to be a beautiful type with a superb temperament. “He was magnificent to ride, and we knew he would come home with us that day.”

Kelly and Lucy think very highly of the Black Breeze line and already own horses with that lineage. At the time, the best-performing horse on their truck was a gelding called Daleys Conair, similarly bred to Cool Breeze, being by Conman from a Black Breeze mare called Daleys Breezair.
Breezair goes back to Daleys Rio. Owning a beautiful line of Playrio mares, the Daley family felt Cool Breeze would make an ideal sire for that line, saying, “It made perfect sense!”
Cool Breeze is a captivating individual with boundless potential. The Daley family are excited to watch his journey unfold and eagerly anticipate the exceptional progeny that he will undoubtedly produce.
