Kneipps Conray sire of progeny across an even wider range of disciplines

We continue to harp on about sires who produce progeny suitable for a range of disciplines, but for us, this is a first.  4yo Kneipps Conray gelding Adios Elzario, aka Baz or Bazza, has come in from left field.

Baz was bred by the Ryan family to campdraft, but he broke his shoulder as a yearling and his future took a different direction. 12yo Tayla Ryan took him under her wing and turned the timid, somewhat tumultous Baza, into a top level showjumper competing against some of Australia’s biggest and most well know competitiors, in the 1.05-1.10m class.

Tayla began by teaching him the basic flatwork and transitions, but as soon as she started jumping him and cantering him over a pole, she knew “He had scope”.  Time saw them move through the classes, never coming home from a show without a placing.  Thanks to Tayla he is now fully trained in flying changes and the most supple head carriage.

In Tayla’s words, “His biggest achievement by far has been placing 5th in a 1.10m Childrens Tour against some of the best warmbloods and children aged 12-14. By far the most memorable moment for me was being able to produce a horse with no education, bred to do a completely different sport, and turn him into a horse that everyone wants to get their hands on and ride.”

Congratulations Tayla you will take pride of place on Kneipps Conray’s page and we look forward to following you and Baz’s career.
