Lyra Park Delt Me An Acre carries the heritage of two outstanding bloodlines—being by the legendary sire Acres Destiny and out of the highly performed and much-admired mare Lyra Park Delta. With such a pedigree, it was little surprise that “Delt” quickly stamped himself as a serious contender in the campdraft arena.

Delt made his debut at Burke N Wills in 2023, entering both the Maiden and Novice drafts. His talent shone through early, with his first victory coming in the Novice draft at Paradise Lagoons later that same year. From there, his momentum never faltered. A second Novice win followed at Dingo, and his debut season (2023/24) culminated with him being crowned Rookie Horse of the Year at the 2024 ACA National Finals in Dalby.
Bred, trained, and now campaigned by Steve and Louise Comiskey, Delt is more than just a standout competitor—he is part of the family. Louise describes him as a horse who simply enjoys his work, always ready to go for a ride, and blessed with an easy-going temperament. “He’s the most placid of them all—very laid back around the team,” she explains. Yet behind that calm exterior lies a quirky character, making him a horse with both presence and personality.
Already, Delt’s qualities are shining through in his progeny. His foals are inheriting his hallmark quietness, attractive type, and rideability.

What makes Delt particularly special to the Comiskey’s is his dam. Lyra Park Delta was a much-loved homebred mare whom the whole family rode. Steve and Delta had a great connection and enjoyed a remarkable partnership, claiming some of campdrafting’s greatest honours: the Warwick Gold Cup (2009), the Warwick Champion of Champions (2014), back-to-back Warwick Barnes Trophies (2014 & 2015), and the Paradise Lagoons Acton Super Beef (2016)—among many other Open draft wins. As a broodmare, Delta has been equally influential, passing on her exceptional traits to her offspring, including Delt, who now continues her legacy.
With his proven bloodlines, outstanding temperament, and early success in the spotlight, Lyra Park Delt Me An Acre is not only living up to his pedigree—he is carving out a legacy of his own.
ACRES DESTINY has become a household name in the performance horse world, producing champion after champion in a range of disciplines including cutting, campdrafting, challenges & reining.
