Select Sires Welcomes Kemosabe

šŸ¾ THREE BOTTLES OF PROSECCO, A SLEEPING HUSBAND… AND ONE VERY GOOD STALLION.

Some stallion purchases are the result of months of research, careful negotiations and meticulously considered plans.

Kemosabe’s involved three bottles of Prosecco, a sleeping husband and a rapidly escalating string of text messages. šŸ˜‚

But behind the entertaining story is a stallion that Emma and Ben Rossiter, and their good friends Hayley and Andrew Warden, had known and admired for some time.

By Metallic Cat x EBS Triticale, Kemosabe had already proven himself as an exceptional cow horse, with the ability, temperament and versatility to excel both in the cutting pen and at campdrafts.

Bred by Grant and Dru Quigley of Q Stud and trained by Grant, Kemosabe’s competition career was interrupted by COVID, but he went on to make finals in the NCHA Breeders Incentive Derby and DDCC Derby, and showed his versatility by winning both the 2022 GSOH Two Handed Cutting and Boxing.

It was campdrafting, however, that brought Kemosabe into the Rossiters’ lives — and eventually led to a very spontaneous stallion purchase.

Today, The Last Bottle Syndicate is looking forward to what comes next.

With proven performance, outstanding bloodlines, an exceptionally quiet temperament and young progeny already attracting attention, Kemosabe is beginning to make his mark as a sire.

And as Emma puts it…

ā€œWe’re just enjoying the ride.ā€ šŸ¾šŸ“
