Week in, week out we see competitors achieving milestones, we wish we could share them all. This one took our fancy, the best name…and the best photo.

Shae Pasetti’s mare GEEBUNG FUNNY FACE is bred to the hilt. She’s by Hazelwood Conman & her granddam is a full sister to Omega.

After finishing last year as a novice mare, with multiple placings in her first competitive season, FunnyFace has absolutely exceeded all expectations this year.

She started the season with several more placings before claiming another Novice win at Lakeland. Then, the very next weekend at Laura Campdraft she smashed out a huge Rd1 score of 92 (23 65 4 ) to head into the Open final in the lead.

And, as if that wasn’t enough, she stepped up once again and came home with the Open win.

Her owners couldn’t be prouder, saying, “She is a truly gifted and incredibly special mare who gives her all every time she walks into the camp. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.”

Looking through our records we can see the Pasetti family purchased Funny Face through the Nutrien Classic back in 2022 for as a 3yo for $62,500. She showed promise then, and it certainly hasn’t taken long to realise her potential.
