Teles One Moore (TOM) was bred by Todd Graham from his super mare, One Moore Spin. With One Moore Spin having produced superstar progeny by different sires, Todd wanted to try the One Moore Spin / Teles Again cross.
Teles One Moore was foaled in early January 2009 and was a very impressive colt from the beginning. Barry Smith saw him as a youngster and immediately recognised his potential and a deal was struck with Todd to purchase the horse with Todd remaining as the trainer.
TOM was prepared for the 2012 NCHA Futurity, where he placed in the GR2 before injury prevented him from competing further in the Futurity season.
Barry then sent TOM to America for a season, where John Mitchell took over as his trainer. He showed very successfully in the States winning 4 Runner Up Titles. Barry also travelled to the States and showed him himself.
Returning to Australia TOM was then put into training with Hugh Miles for his Classic/Challenge and Open seasons. Unfortunately he was unable to get a constant preparation as he suffered several small but unrelated injuries.
With TOM turning 7 and not wanting to keep a stallion, Barry made the decision to offer him for sale through the 2016 Landmark Horse Sale. Beautifully presented and working magnificently with Hugh Miles he reached $60,000 and sold to Cristina and Milton Jones.
Cristina was intending to buy a mare at Landmark, but when she started to study the catalogue and the varying bloodlines she was instantly attracted to Teles One Moore.
Cristina has a very impressive band of over 60 broodmares in the Territory carrying mainly Romeo and Acres Destiny bloodlines. Buying a stallion of TOM’s quality seemed a logical progression. She rang Pete Comiskey for his opinion and his response was that “he’s a real good pony”. Further into the conversation he agreed to campaign TOM if Cristina was successful in purchasing him.
The rest as they say, is history.
