Karl & Felicity Burton’s Performance Horse establishment, Diamond K Performance Horses is located at ‘Tarko’, Jondaryan – a small town situated in between Toowoomba and Dalby, Qld, Australia.
Diamond K Performance Horses focuses on breeding, showing and selling quality horses. Karl and Felicity school and show their performance horses for Challenge Events and Campdrafting with a solid cutting-based foundation – a sought after asset to the competitive Cow Horse. They also offer private lessons as well as run clinics and schools.
Karl started out his career working for a number of trainers both in Australia and overseas. He has worked for Todd Graham, Corey Holden and further abroad – Darren Simpkins of Simpkins Cutting horses in the USA. Karl has been involved with horses from a very early age, starting out with Pony Club and Eventing as a child, moving eventually to Campdrafting and Challenges in the years to come. He has developed his business from a training establishment to a breeding, selling and intense competition based enterprise.
Karl’s successes include winning the Stanbroke Stockman’s Challenge at Cloncurry, Rocky Rush Under 5 Challenge, 2nd Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge, winning the Paradise Lagoons Novice Draft (twice), the Canning Downs Cut out winner, Condamine Bell Novice winner and Gold City Open Draft winner.
Felicity predominantly showed Western Pleasure mounts for about ten years of Youth which took her to the USA on three separate occasions for World Show competition and Leadership Engagements. Felicity has broadened her horizons over the past ten years competing in Cutting, Campdrafting and Challenge events.
Felicity’s successes include winning the Landmark Classic Performance Horse Challenge, placing 2nd in the Paradise Lagoons Stockman’s Challenge, finalling in the Cloncurry Stockman’s Challenge, Warwick Gold Cup and the Warwick Ladies Silver Cup. Felicity also has multiple wins in Ladies, Maiden & Novice drafts.
Together, this couple have an exciting business with their performance horses and are very proud and excited about their up and coming youngstock.
