Coonamble Challenge & Campdraft was called off today after nearly 4 inches of rain overnight. Whilst the rain was most welcome, its timing couldn’t have been any worse for the organising committee. The best falls since 2016 left the campdraft arena awash.
It was deemed unsafe to continue so a line was drawn in the sand, or puddle in this case, and first round scores in both the Open Challenge and coveted Classic Challenge became final results. Day 3 of the Colt Starting Competition was also scrapped and the only thing to proceed was the Juvenile & Junior Challenges.
Congratulations to all involved in any case, it was running like a well oiled wheel, such a shame that oil and water don’t mix.
