A success story about a Boy Named Sue.

The Strength of bloodlines is undeniable. This Cat’s Destiny (Curly) is a Champion Cutter & this weekend at Paradise we saw his 3/4 blood brother Sue (aka This Catifex) excel in drafting.

  • Sire: WR This Cats Smart
  • Dam: Angel Spin (Curly’s sister)

Bred by Fred and Kim Johnston he was given to Nikki & Guy Morgan as a weanling.  They trained him and finalled in the NCHA NP Futurity before selling him to Dean and Julie Jones who went on to win the Goondiwindi & Victorian NP Futurity as well as finalling in many other events.

At the end of his aged events they sold him on to Mark and Shelly Ruff, who had since purchased his mother and sister Angel Reys, Mark’s great open mare who recently passed away.

Sue attended a few drafts down south before heading to Paradise on a whim. He went in to the Final of the Mort & Co Open with Peter O’Neill on top having run a 91 & 90, and an 88 in the final saw him share top spot. He placed 2nd after a runoff. A massive effort, what a future awaits!

Congratulations to all connections.
